(I) *Brutiful Quality Quotation:

“You Are

Who You

Choose

To Be”

~The Iron Giant

The Season of Stillness provides an opportunity to slow down & reflect. Part of that reflection for myself & those close to me has been to evaluate who we are & who we want to become.

This starts /w unearthing our core ideals, which in turn create our identities. The most empowering thing about this is that we can choose what ideals we wish to cultivate & embody.

We can Choose to be Generous. We can Choose to be Patient. We can Choose to be Courageous. The choice is in our hands & ultimately our hearts as to what identity we want to forge.

(II) IrnMind~Forge:

(Sadhana) ~ “Methodical discipline to attain desired knowledge or goal”

I have been grappling /w for many years, forming an identity as someone who embraces challenge /w a steadfast discipline. Having now discovered Sadhana, I have been bestowed a more philosophical approach that resonates much more than merely saying “be disciplined.”

I have acknowledged & gained a greater understanding that I am in fact an incredibly methodical person. I enjoy having a structured set of checkboxes, rituals, taking my time & being present. This has challenged me to do work that supports the embodiment of this ideal & to understand that I only have so much capacity if I wish to do things /w a high standard of quality.

It has also made me reflect on the kind of future lifestyle I want to have. I have no desire to be part of the rat race. I want to be present for the people I care about & not be pressured into a pace of life that does not support my well being. This has proven challenging as I seek to balance my grand ambitions /w a desire for a simple life.

All I know, is that I must do my best to walk my path & follow the light~posts along the way in a methodical fashion in honor of my heart🙏🏾🤘🏿

(III) Modern Renaissance Reading:

A Philosophy for Being Human | by Robin Sharma

Go out into this cruel and beautiful world with a heart full of heroism and eyes set to witness the full glory of your powers.

Yes, some seasons will bring misfortune and some times will be hard.

Yet, there is much good in daily life. Neighbors who appreciate you, friends who enliven you and family that adores you.

When it comes to those who wish less than your dreams for you, know they know not what they do. And send them the good wishes that reflect your patience. And the kind understanding that displays your sincere forgiveness.

Work richly and with dignity, giving more than you receive and produce the magic that honors your maker. And respects your genius.

Keep your life simple, as an addiction to acquisition and deep craving for more can stifle your spirit and hurt your good heart.

Enjoy the company of wise people, the companionship of inspiring books and a healthy relationship with your finest self.

When the crowd seeks to make you like them, stay true to your path — leading by your virtues and the values that feel most real to you.

Remain daring, knowing that the meek and timid do not know the soaring flights that come by leaning into your fears. To postpone the life of your ideals is to invite regret into your days.

Remember that terror is closer to triumph than complacency is. And that fear becomes faith when you walk into it.

Enjoy the fruits of your labor and the accolades of your masterwork.

Love gently, respecting all around you and the earth that nourishes you.

I do hope that my words above have brought you positivity, solace, strength and comfort.

With love and respect,

Robin

(V) Profound Passage to Ponder Upon:

Taken from | An Audience of One ~ Reclaiming Creativity for its Own Sake

[The ocean has taught me to endure adversity, to take wave after wave on the head so that I might catch one. It has taught me to be patient, because sometimes you wait twenty minutes between waves, living in the moment & keeping your eyes on the horizon. It has taught me to accept failure & get back up after I fall. it has taught me to see the world as a more abundant place because there is always another wave coming. All of these lessons are invaluable for a creative practice]
