My first thought after reading this passage was ~ “that’s so Metal” ~ & after more pensive elaborative rehearsal, I was struck by the profundity of the sentence.

Surrender is where our spirits my be refined, where we may forge a mind of mettle, it is how we may tear down, rebuild & transcend.

Surrender allows us to release ourselves to something beyond & above ~ a force /w more wisdom than ourselves, our faith, our anchor.

Surrender is not defeat, it is letting go of that which no longer serves our greatest purpose, shedding whatever stronghold is keeping us from the calling in our hearts.

I have found that being willing to fail, & to look like a madman in the social light, has lead to a deeper sense of peace /w expression of my genuine being & expansion of my own creative gifts.

It also leads to those sweet moments of unscripted vulnerability in which we may draw closer to those in communitas /w us & appreciate the beauty of the imperfection & humility that makes us all human.
